Archbishop's Palace (Wroclaw)

Poland / Dolnoslaskie / Wroclaw / Domstraße, 11
 palace, 1760s construction

Since the second half of the 13th century there was a house tower in this place - the seat of the provost of the cathedral chapter. In 1791 the palace was destroyed in a fire. Its reconstruction was supervised by the famous Silesian architect Karl Gotthard Langhans, architect of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. It was later renovated by K. G. Geissler, who designed the entrance gate and new outbuildings, thus giving shape to the current "between the courtyard and the garden" residence.

In 1813 Prussian Chancellor Hardenberg arranged a meeting here between King Frederick William III of Prussia and Tsar Alexander I of Russia.

During the Siege of Breslau this building was heavily damaged. Reconstruction lasted between 1954 and 1969. It currently houses the Papal Theological Faculty.
