The Nandi Village is an ancient settlement with a rich history. Nandi means Bull, The Temple of Nandi at over 1000 years old is one of the holiest sites of Hinduism. At the foot hills of Nandi Hills, and near the educational Hub of Muddenahalli-Kanivenarayanapura. Nandi Hill is the tallest peak in Bangalore at 1,478 meters above sea level. It was Tipu Sultan's summer retreat and palace and Tipu's fort walls still stand as testimony to history. The rivers Pennar, Palar and Arkavati originate from these hills. A popular hill resort of the Bangaloreans. The Tipu's Drop, a 600 meter high cliff, where prisoners were hurled down the precipice is an awe-inspiring sight. Atop the hill is the Yoganandishwara temple.
