  • As a teenager, I used to go to Garrett Island to meditate. I worked at the Havre De Grace Marina, which was then located at the old Ice House on Water Street. It was on Garrett Island that I made my decision to join the US Navy, 47 years ago. This was one of the most beautiful places in the world to me at the time. I imagined Garrett Island as something out of Mark Twains Tom Sawyer and Huckelberry Finn. I have written and published a book entitled The Fear of Living. It may be ordered at www.xlibris.com/TheFearofLiving.html Thanks and best regards; Doug harrington
