cemetery, place with historical importance
One of Macon's oldest cemeteries. Allman Brothers Band members Duane Allman and Berry Oakley are buried here, as well as boxer William L. "Young" Stribling. There are many other notable people buried in this cemetery as well.
Rose Hill was the only cemetery in the US to ever spark a "burial boom" as people from all over the south were buying plots as soon as they became available. It was one of the most desirable places to be buried in the south.
