Located at the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd. South and Tropicana Avenue, the MGM Grand is one of Las Vegas's premier casino-resorts. Footbridges connect it with the Tropicana (to the south) and New York New York (to the west). Among its unique aspects are the "Studio City" walk, full of Hollywood-esque shopping and dining options, a branch of famed chef Emril Lagasse's restaurant chain, A McDonald's, Rainforest Cafe restaurant, and a walk-thru lion habitat.

The hotel was built on the site of the old Marina Hotel, the main wing of that hotel was incorporated into the MGM Grand.
