Caesars Palace is a luxury hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, an unincorporated township in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. Caesars Palace is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment. Caesars is located on the west side of the Strip, between the Bellagio and the Mirage.
Caesars began in 1962, and eventually spread out to a total of 3,348 rooms in five towers: Augustus, Centurion, Roman, Palace, and Forum. The Forum tower features guest suites with 1,000 square feet (93 m²) of space. There is also a large shopping center called the Forum Shops within the complex, and a large aquarium. Caesars Palace also featured boxing matches, wrestling matches, magic shows, and is also featured in many TV shows as both a set or a live location. Motorcycling stunt-driving over the large fountain has been repeated on occasion.
Before the expansion of the buildings, the parking lot was actually large enough to hold professional automobile races; in 1981 and 1982, the Caesar Palace Grands Prix was the championship finale for the Formula One World Championship. The track was then used for IndyCar racing in 1983 and 1984, but CART had enough after two races as well. The tracks were not popular with the drivers, the "scenery" was merely concrete walls and fences, and the crowds were not large despite the amenities.
By the way, the name of the place is Caesars Palace. Not Caesar's Palace.
