  • I am a retired District Planning officer of State Planning Board permanently settled in Trivandum now. My native place is Ayroor. ( Vallia veedu, Ayroor South). I always have a sentimental prolonging to my childhood days in which I use to swim and play with my friends in the Pamba river. Even now I use to go to my home at Ayroor to see the THIRUVONATHONI( decorated divine boat which has an AMARAM like a Chundan vallam at one end(used for snake boat race at Aranmula) and has an Eagle head at the other end) going to Aranmula temple on the eve of Thiruvonam. Similar is the HINDU matha parikshathu. What an esteem Culture! Thanks to the Spiritual saints of our place . Moreover the brotherly affection between hindus and x ians is of paramount order. People from all walks of life should pledge to protect the flora and fauna and the beautiful natural beauty seen from the cherukolpuzha bridge( ie. the Ponmala, Kurangumala, Charal kunnu, the ever flowing glittering waters of pamba etc).Let our mother pamba live long till the end of universe. Let us pray!!! N Radhakrishnan
