Rail Bridge across Mahanadi at Jobra,Cuttack

The first Mahanadi Rail Bridge was opened on 1 January 1899. It had 64 spans of 100 feet each, on wells 19 ft 6 in. in diameter sunk to 60 ft below low water level.

Railway bridge - South Eastern Railway - Howrah-Cuttack-Bhubaneswar-Khurda_Rd(-to-PURI)-Vishakaptnam-Chennai Main Line

Mr. Vishnu Ramchandra Ranade was personally supervising the works to build about 35 spans of this bridge. The contacr was taken up by his company V. R. Ranade & Sons (Pune).
