Opera Square (Giza)

Opera Square is on Geizera Island at the west end of the Qasr al-Ayn Bridge, across the Nile from Tahrir Square and Downtown Cairo. The Cairo Opera House and other cultural institutions are just to the west of the town square with a traffic roundabout and monumental sculpture site. The old Khedivial Opera House (1869 - 1971) was elsewhere in the city, and though it burned down, some call its original square Opera Square also.
