Poplaca (in German Gunzendorf, in Hungarian Popláka, Paplaka) is the village of residence of the commune of the same name in Sibiu County, Transylvania, Romania.
The commune is part of Mărginimea Sibiului (roughly translated as The Sibiu edge, or outskirts) ethnographic area, which comprises 18 Romanian localities in the south-western part of the Sibiu County, in southern Transylvania, all of them having a unique ethnological, cultural, architectural, and historical heritage.
