Gadiara is in district Howrah.
This is on the confluence of River Gamga/Hooghly and Roopanarayan. Gadiara is a tourist place and a গpopular picnic spot.
There was a fort, named Fort Mornington built by the English East India company at Gadira. In 1942 the fort, already abandoned was destroyed due to a cyclone in 1942. During low tides the ruins of Fort Mornington are still visible.
