 temple, island, village, interesting place

The area is a very important place of historical interest.Jater Deul -to some historians it was a temple of Mahadev (as the name Jata) of Sen Era ,but according to Pandit Haraprasad Sastri it was a Buddhist temple of Pal Era.Nearly 30 meters in height and with a squre size basement of area of 25 sq. meter.Other than this there are some big ponds(DIGHI) of older times and some areas full of relics of older times. The same kind of it can be found in G-plot area, at the southern part of Patharpratima ,the area is called as Buroburir Tot, but there they are just the relics of the past.
One can come here from Sealdah by train ,catch the Lakshikantapur or Namkhana local and reach Mathurapur (1 hour and 40 mins.) then take auto or trecker or mini-bus and come to Raidighi(45 mins.) then again take auto(Raidighi to Kankandighi bridge over the river of Moni has already been opened) and cover all the areas. It's just a one-day tour.
