Zegé is a peninsula on the southern shore of Lake Tana, northwest of Bahir Dar. The peninsula is home of Ura Kidane Miheret monastery, which is one of the popular sites to all visitors, including women. Unlike the other nearby monasteries, where there are some restrictions for female visitors, here, however, women are welcome to visit all the sites on the peninsula, including the monastery.
In addition to its' popular monastery, Zegé has always been renowned for its' coffee as well.
