Giant rotating pipe furnaces used to drive water from the dolomite ore. Use huge torches to burn off water. Slag inside pipes are literally shot off the walls with a big shotgun.

  • Took a tour of this mine in the late '70s. They used an 8-ga shotgun shooting slugs. They had a huge pallet of cartridges sitting there. I'm guessing it got kind of dull to shoot that small cannon.
