Interlocking on the former Conrail Chicago Line where the alignment shifts from the former NYC to PRR routes into Chicago. The eastbound signal gantry is of a PRR position light design, while the westbound mast signals are NYC color lights. Westbound two new tracks split off, one serving a small yard, the other bypassing the Hammond Station and providing a straight shot to CP-509.
