 seaport, production

Built on the former site of the Bethlehem Lackawanna Steel Mill, the Port of Buffalo's Gateway Metroport Terminal is primarily a dry bulk import and export facility seven full-size vessel berths with the Seaway standard depth of 27ft alongside.

Presently ranking 28th among all U.S. seaports and seventh among Great Lakes ports for tonnage, the port is steadily growing as more and more of its available 200 acres are developed for both breakbulk and dry bulk cargo storage. Preexisting rail connections and the creation of Foreign Trade Zone No. 23 has further increased the port's capabilities to handle international cargo and has contributed greatly to the ports improvement and expansion of its facilities.
