Silica Dome is a unique geological feature within Valley of Fire State Park. It served as the filming location where Captain (Ret.) Kirk (William Shatner), along with Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart), battles Dr. Soran (Malcolm McDowell) and falls to his death. In the movie, Lake Mead can clearly be seen in the background in at least one of the shots.
