The building was damaged in 1945 by Russian bombing of Rønne. In 1967 the building was expanded with an extension. Until 1973 the building served both as judge's office and official residence of the judge. In 1973, when Rønne and Nexø jurisdictions were merged, the official home was closed and the building has since worked exclusively as a judge's office with office and archive facilities for all tasks in the court of Bornholm.
