Kentucky Fried Chicken, the popular fast-food chain. This location, though its appearance has changed a lot over the years, holds the distinction of being the second Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise ever in Canada. A fixture on 8th Street since 1954 when Joe Young decided to serve Colonel Harland Sanders original recipe for chicken at his El Rancho Drive-In hamburger stand, this location has seen the city grow up to and past it in the years since.

The original deal for this KFC location was based on a handshake between the Colonel himself and Joe Young. Joe would become the driving force of KFC in Saskatchewan and Canada. His Saskatoon-based El-Rancho company was inducted into the Saskatchewan Business Hall of Fame in 2000.
