In 1891, Arcade File was one of Anderson's Gas Boom industries. After incorporating in 1892, Arcade File was in operation here until 1900, when it became part of the Nicholson File Company, the world's largest producer of files, who in turn, upgraded the factory, making it possible to produce 5,00 files a day.
Nicholson File closed Aug. 31, 1978.
