May 22, 2010. Update after 4 hours of the Incident.

160 feared dead, there are conflicting report about this
accident. one report says while landing tyre burst and
flight went out of control and skidded away. another says
pilot overshoot landing by 2000 feet from threshold and
it fell down over the cliff at the end of the airport
another one says coz if missed threshold point of
landing pilot and tried to take off and while doing it
one of the wings hit ground and caught fire.

waiting for official explanation, which wil be out by noon.

Scores of VIPs pouring in to help to cope up with the situation.
Fingers have been pointed to Pilot (Capt Zlatko Glusica,
a serbian born british national),may be a human error or may not.
Black Box and flight data recorder yet to be recovered, then only
we can conclude on what created this crash, one of the worst in
the history of indian civil aviation

Cockpit voice recorder found form the debris, this will help authorities to find the last conversations between pilots and ATC

Update after 38 hours

Plane throttle found, which was in forward position, confirming earlier media reports that pilot tried to take off the plane again after touch down. ( or later ).
unconfirmed reports says ( taken from ATC tapes ) that pilot's last words were " overshoot, overshoot"


Update after 76 hours

Black box(FDR) found of IX812.Decoding would be done in a couple of days.

  • May their Soul rest in Peace. From the first impression the terrain seems to be very difficult one for pilots to manoeuvre. There has been 32,000 landings since 2006 opening of the airport without incindence. All the commercial pilots are well trained for such landing terrain and they also gain experience, but still the level of difficult is the same. At the spot of touch down this 'level of difficulty' was overcome by the pilots experience for all the 32,000 landing since 2006 but this time. The pilot may have hit the handle a split second earlier and the aircraft landed just short of the runway and split by the impact of the uneven surface (the front part got veered to one side and the other part -from the middle to the tail- went off perpendicular to it.

Who has recommended the orientation of the new air strip, which is probably made with the idea of making it INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ?   • We can only have speculations and speculations. Truth was that the plane was fully loaded with petrol . Some peaple are harping about runway had enough length to land with any latest model. But there was no extra length incase of overshoot or any fault. So there was no factor safety. There were no cameras on run way and even the radar was also of retro quality. Everybody pointing fingures on pilot error . I think itz the easy escape as both r dead. Even if the black box was found , the exact decoded information may not be made public becoz its not in the well interest of airport or air india. One can easily assume that report will blame pilots only. Besides it , can't think of agony those passengers went threw final seconds . Pain they went threw burning in inferno and suffocation . May God give them the eternal peace.
