The Butney is an area in Maryhill, Glasgow. Well known as a deprived area with high levels of crime, especially drug abuse and anti-social behaviour, the area is now undergoing regeneration with the original tenements having been demolished and now being replaced with modern flats which will house many former residents of this area.
