Radom is the name of the starwatchbuilding in the town of Bochum, NordRheinland-Westphalen, Deutschland.
It is a private-initiative-based construction with specialties like radioastronomy and ecological research.
The starwatch Bochum was founded in 1946 by Prof. Heinz Kaminski as a watchlocation for interested citizens, as part of an educational institute, the Volkshochschule.
In 1957, the signals of the satellite Sputnik 1 were recorded in Bochum. This led to the development of a worldwide research centre, das Institut für Weltraumforschung, and the Starwatch Bochum.
