PWD's "Biosolids Recycling Center." This facility receives sewage sludge from the three PWD sewage treatment facilities. SW and SE facilities use sludge pipes while sludge from NE Treatment comes via barge. The sludge is dewatered and piled into compost heaps until it is shipped out to be dumped in landfills, used on farm fields as fertilizer, dumped in strip mines and distributed for gardening use.
