Occupying an area of 80 hactares, Katta Beel was dug by a legendary Garo King called Raja Rengta in honour of Hindu goddess Kali at the close of 8th century. Scenic and beautiful, the beel is now nmanaged by a local group and is mainly used for rearing fish for human consumption.
