Kakrala is a city and a municipal board in Badaun district. It is a centre of sugar processing.

The population is 98% Muslim. Most of the people belong to a Rajput tribe called Bhatti, originating in Bhatner (now called Hanumangarh).

Located in Budaun District, Kakrala is a small town about 20 km south of Budaun. It lies on the way to Budaun from Usehat. Neighboring towns are Usehat, Jagat, Kadirganj and Kakora.
Major cities Bareilly and Shahjahanpur are 56 km and 80 km from here.
