Rajapalayam is a town and a special grade municipality in Virudhunagar district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located 85 km southwest of Madurai in the state of Tamil Nadu. Its main attractions are the Ayyanar Falls and the neighbour town of Srivilliputtur.

  • I am from South Sammandapuram, born some 65 years ago when there was no PACM or PACR schools. No shanti theatre. Yes Ayyanar Temple & Falls were there. Now it is not Falls but an excuse. And we used to bathe and swim in the Appal Raja Oorani. Now it is a dumping yard. What a people? They have ruined my native place.What a pity. My Rajapalayam is gone forever!
