Tentulia Upazila (Panchagarh district) extreme northern upazila of Bangladesh with an area of 189.12 sq. km is bounded by West Bengal of India on the north, south and west, Panchagarh sadar upazila on the east. Main rivers are Dahuk, Karatoya, Mahananda.
The location of Tetulia town is 26.4913831N 88.3424163E. Tentulia (Town) consists of one mouza. The area of the town is 4.23 sq km. It has a population 3756; male 50.77%, female 49.23%. The density of population is 888 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 45.7%.
Tentulia thana was established in 1857 and was turned into an upazila in 1993. It consists of 7 union parishads, 36 mouzas and 242 villages.
Archaeological heritage: Remnants of a fort at a place named Buraburi between Bhajanpur and Tentulia, a Temple and two tombstones of the Greek sculptural.
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Population 86760; male 51.52%, female 48.48%; Muslim 97.63%, Hindu 2.10%, others 0.27%.

Literacy and educational institutions: Average literacy 25.5%; male 33.2%, female 17.3%. Educational institutions: college (non-government) 4, high school (non-government) 23, madrasa 8, primary school (government.) 39, (non-government) 27, satellite school 1, community school 3.
