Originaly a shortcut to married quarters, used by all airmen as a route to and from the village. The track to this is now much grown over, but there is still a public footpath that today is little used. Back in our day, it was deep and wide with much use and in '63 was the very first route to be opened through the deep snowdrifts that covered the area. This path has been refered to as `Hookies Lane', it being the prefered route to `The Inn' in the village.
