A small lake surrounded by private homes. Features: Swimming beach, no motor craft.
Fishing limited to catch and release because of elevated mercury contamination.

Comments

  • A private limited access lake in home owner association. (Fish are as edible as any other fresh water lake in the USA Alantic coast region. Mercury similarily present in all freshwaters of US Alantic region.)
  • The fish are not edible. The lake is contaminated not just with mercury, but heavy metals. The septic systems were not planned/constructed well and leached into the lake. I think they have a sewer now and it has been corrected, but the elevated levels in the lake remain. The levels are a few times more than the average in the Mid-Atlantic region.
