  Ocean Pines is subdivision popular amongst young and old, most of which moved there because they enjoyed the surrounding area. Unfortunately, upon moving to the treasured area, they decided to change it so it seems to conform to the city life they came from. Sadly, the current majority of the population can claim no roots to the Eastern Shore beyond the changes they have made.

  The treasured area was in need of being revitalized. What people from other areas brought was culture and a more open-minded way of looking at the world. The area does not conform to city life, it has embraced a more modern way of living and modernization has provided a better standard of life for the general area. Since the development of Ocean Pines is almost fifty years old, there are several generations which can claim their roots there.
