Cawthon Hall [CAW, Building 85] (Tallahassee, Florida)

 dormitory  Add category

Cawthon Hall is a dorm for current FSU students, the smallest dorm on campus, and the only dorm on campus with a patio. It is home to a special program for freshmen and sophomores majoring in a field of music or education, or for any freshman and sophmore women who are majoring in math and science. Cawthon Hall was built in 1948 as a community-style dorm. It was renovated in 2002 to a suite-style dorm, making it the second-most recently renovated dorm (Landis was renovated in 2006). Named after one of the dedicated faculty members of the Florida State College For Women (now FSU), Sarah "Tissie" Cawthon.

It is the only dormitory on the east side that is not connected by a skybridge.

The actual street address is listed below. Older sites listed its address as 85 Dogwood Way, as this was the former name of the street.

Cawthon was once considered to be haunted. This article of the Florida Flambeau somewhat explains some phenomena that has happened here.
