Mogadishu Cathedral was built in 1928 in accordance with the Italian plan for the development of Mogadishu. It was built in a Norman Gothic style, and based of the Duomo di Cefalù. The last Bishop of Mogadishu, Salvatore Colombo, was killed while saying mass in this cathedral by armed insurgents in 1989. Since then, most of the building has been destroyed by Muslim fundamentalists.

  • I don't think even soldiers will be visiting this place again. Somolia has nothing worth taking, and the world has learned the futility of trying to help these people. Somalia will remain forgotten by the civilized world.
