Galkayo (Somali: Gaalkacyo, Arabic: جالكعيو‎, also known in Italian as Gallacaio or formerly Rocca Littorio) is the capital of the north-central Mudug region of Somalia.
The city of Galkayo is divided into two administrative areas separated by a distinct boundary, with 3 of the 4 districts governed by the Puntland State and one southern district governed by Galmudug state.
