Jiuzhaigou literally means "Valley of Nine Villages" or valley with nine Tibetan villages. JiuZhaiGou is a nature reserve famous for its beautiful landscape, waterfalls and colorful lakes in the north of Sichuan province near the Gansu border. It is part of the Aba Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, 330 km north of the provincial capital of Chengdu. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.
