Puthoopadam is a beautiful village linked between NH road Ayikkarappadi and Arur. It is a village surrounded by mountains and full of greenary. It has got a LP School, nursary school, three mosques, madrasa, two temples, one swimming pool and two small towns. It was a nice landscape where cultivation was the main source of income. Now beautiful concrete houses are erected across the village in place of cultivation. At present, most of the income is coming from abroad, mainly Jeddah, most of the expatriates from the area are seen in Sherefiyya city, running Limousines for their income.
It has got an Harijan colony too. The villagers are famous for their interest for football. It is included in Cherukavu Panchayath, Malppuram.
