32,000 sq. ft. office building was constructed on the site of the French Empire style Cummings House (1874-1956). By the 1920's with the migration of fashionable housing to the Old West End, lumber merchant Aaron Chesboroug added an annex to the house and converted it into an apartment hotel called the Chesborough Dwellings. The Chesborough Dwellings were demolished in 1956.
The present building was originally designed as the corporate offices of the auto parts conglomerate, Sheller-Globe. The property was sold in 1989 to Insurer Hylan Administrative Services after Sheller-Globe was taken over by United Technologies. In 2010 the building was acquired by Phoenix Academy which operates a charter school.
