Dupchanchia Upazila (bogra district) with an area of 162.45 sq km, is bounded by Khetlal upazila on the north, Adamdighi and Kahaloo upazilas on the south, Shibganj and Kahaloo upazilas on the south, Adamdighi and Akkelpur upazilas on the west. Main rivers are Nadar, Nungalar and Iramati.

Dupchanchia is located at 24.8750°N 89.1694°E . It has 29153 units of house hold. Dupchanchia (Town) has an area of 4.93 sq km. Dupchanchia Municipality was established in 2000. It has a population of 18312; male 51.33%, female 48.67%. It has 9 wards and 38 mahallas. Literacy rate among the town people is 43.3%.

Dupchanchia thana was established in 1880 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. It consists of one municipality, 6 union parishads, 114 mouzas and 230 villages.

Archaeological heritage Dargah of Sultan Shahi Sawar Dhap, Goyabandh Mazar and Mazar of Pir Ziauddin.

Population 149112: male 50.77%, female 49.23%; Muslim 90.57%, Hindu 9.15%, others 0.28%.; ethnic nationals: 1062 (santal).
