Dupchanchia Upazila (bogra district) with an area of 162.45 sq km, is bounded by Khetlal upazila on the north, Adamdighi and Kahaloo upazilas on the south, Shibganj and Kahaloo upazilas on the south, Adamdighi and Akkelpur upazilas on the west. Main rivers are Nadar, Nungalar and Iramati.

Dupchanchia thana was established in 1880 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. It consists of one municipality, 6 union parishads, 114 mouzas and 230 villages.
