New vehicles belonging to the PSA Group bound for the United Kingdom are loaded in Calais, the only port which offers this demanding customer the capacity needed to carry out 2 daily trips to the Thames with its current fleet of car carriers. Much of the surfaces and equipment available in the East dock are dedicated to this task.
The vehicles are stored on the port on 15ha quay level for pre-loading, flanked of 3 Ro-Ro linkspan pontoons with a single bridge (T1, T3, T4).
The Walon France company, a Gefco group service provider, soon will have a PDI directly on the port.
