Jungle Safari,Chhattisgarh's first and largest man-made Jungle Safari at Naya Raipur is expected to be ready for visitors by May 2016
Nandanvan Zoo and Safari, the area extends to 800 acres of land. Wild animals will be seen moving freely in their respective zones where visitors can watch them through solar vehicles. Zones have been divided into herbivore safari, tiger safari, bear safari and lion safari along with zoo for other animals. Herbivore zone will include animals like cheetal, black-buck and sambar deer among 50 animals across an area of 30 hectares. Bear zone will have four bears on 20 hectare, tiger zone will have three tigers on area of 20 hectares and lion safari will have 6-8 lions. About Rs 684.29 crore has been spent on the project till December 2014 while estimated cost of project is around Rs 226 crore. About 10,000 people can be accommodated in jungle safari at a time.
