This is where many freshman stay at Florida State University. Deviney is a community style dorm, one of four on campus (the others are Dorman, Kellum, and Smith). Deviney Hall was constructed in 1952, as a women's dormitory called "Florida Hall", even though it's now co-ed. It houses 245 students, and is named after Ezda May Deviney.
Deviney remains unchanged since its construction. The other three halls that haven't been renovated are Kellum, Smith, and Dorman.
The current Deviney Hall is scheduled to be replaced within the next ten years. The new building, when completed, will retain the name "Deviney Hall."
