Khadipada situated in Dhamnagar police-station of Bhadrak district was once an important Buddhist site ,famous for Mahayanic cult. Six colossal images of Buddha and Boddhisattva have been recoverd from this place and removed to the Orissa State Museum. A number of images are still lying under the mounds of debris. These facts suggest the possibility of the existence of a Buddhist stupa or temple at this site when Buddhism was at its peak.
