office building, skyscraper, 1969_construction, International style architecture

625-foot, 50-story International-style office building completed in 1969. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it is formerly known as Burlington House, and now the Alliance Capital Building (since 1994 when that company became the primary tenant). It is clad in dark-tinted glass and black steel. The west and east facades are organized into six bays, and the north and south facades each have nine. Accenting the bays between the steel piers are thin silver metal mullions.

Facing the avenue, the ground floor has plate-glass storefront at the end bays, and a glass wall in the middle bays, where the main entrances are located, fronting the building's east plaza; these are covered by a black metal canopy. Besides the lobby, the ground floor is occupied by Wagamama restaurant, and Quality Bistro.

The small plaza fronting the avenue is dominated by a pair of sprinkling fountains resembling dandelion seed heads.
