This originally opened in January 2004 as the Aggieland Fitness Dome and claimed to be the world's first monolithic dome fitness center (it is an all-concrete structure making it extremely energy efficient). In 2010, they expanded to their current size with the tagline of "More Than a Gym in 2010", but the expansion is not a monolithic dome. In December 2016, it was announced that it would be purchased by Gold's Gym, with the agreement that it would remain in business as AFD until the new Gold's Gym was opened. It closed 5/31/2017 shortly before the opening of the Tower Point Gold's Gym. By January 2018 it was reopened as a church.
