This building gained notoriety for being the crash site of Andrew Joseph Stack III. Stack purposely crashed his Piper Cherokee aircraft into the building on February 18, 2010, likely due to his issues with the government. Repairs have undergone for the building, and the Echelon Building is now back to its pre-event condition.

  • What makes some nut-job with a beef against the IRS who crashes his plane into this building, jeopardizing the lives of innocent people any better than the 9/11 hijackers? This angry crank is in keeping with the malevolent spirit sweeping the nation as witnessed by the whole "Tea Party" movement. One should expect events like this to increase as belligerent types who feel entitled to yell and express their self-righteous, often ill informed anger at the expense of others. The founding fathers feared the angry mob...something these tea baggers should learn if they really want to understand the US Constitution and bring this nation back to it's roots. Just remember, angry fanatacism begets irrational violents and acts of terror, such as planes crashed into buildings.
  • You can't be serious? Really? So from now on nobody should speak out against the government no matter what because someone might fly their plane into a building? Why then should we even bother to have freedom of speach? And is it "Angry fanatacism" to demand that our government follow the constitution? But now because of one nut job we should all go home? And did you read his manifesto before you posted your comment? I don't think you did because he could much more easily be considered a left wing nut job every day of the week. Your pathetic attempt to tie this luny in with the Tea Party movement only shows your ignorance about what the Tea Party movement is about, but God bless your right to say it anyway.
  • It's not about speach...I'm talking about the angry, irrational sentiment that I'm hearing from so many of these people who talk about things in ways that border on the fanatacism of Al Qaeda...Say what you want, God Bless Free Speach and God bless America, but I'm worried quite frankly about increased acts like what we saw yesterday in Austin where some asshole pissed off about his taxes and the government thinks it justifies flying a plane into a building. People are starting to talk about "revolution" and change...is that what they really mean, because "real revolution" and even the actions of the original "Tea Party" participants engaged in acts of violence and destruction. I'm all for free speach, dialogue and reform through the political process, but when it involves revolution or violent action of the sort advocated by Timothy McVeigh, the Unibomber or independent suicide "protests" like this by Joseph Andrew Stack III, I for one will stand up to oppose it. Down with Mobocracy!
