Bell-tower (Suzdal)

Russia / Vladimir / Suzdal
belfry, listed building / architectural heritage, object of cultural heritage of federal importance (Russia)

The bell tower was built, apparently, at the same time as the cathedral, in the second half of the XVI century. In 1592, a bell was given to the monastery by Demid Ivanovich Cheremisinov. He also donated a 355-pound bell in 1609. A gallery was built for the bells. In 1618, Dimitri Mikhailovich Pozharsky donated additional bells for which two arcades of the gallery were added.
