The center of the monastery is Pokrovsky Cathedral, which was built in 1518. The building is surrounded by an open gallery on four sides, the portals of the cathedral are richly decorated.

Under the building of Pokrovsky Cathedral there is a tomb where exiled tsars, Grand Duchesses are buried: Alexandra, daughter of Ivan III, Solomonia Saburova, wife of Vasily III, Anna Vasilchikova, wife of Ivan IV, Evdokia Nagaya, first wife of Vladimir Staritsky, Evpraxia Pozharskaya, etc.
