Nalli Gang or pipeline gang, formed in the late sixties by aspirant youth of Gandhinagar and surroundings, mainly started for recreation and creativity.

A formation of 3 big and 2 medium water pipes arranged in parellal to each other, provided seating for a dozen people to rest in comfort! Scholars, entrepreneurs, professionals and employed mixed together without discrimination of status, caste, creed, and religion!

In early 80's, the pipes were removed by the Municipal authorities and gradually, the ground was expanded to host exhibitions and other amusement activities, thus forcing the Nalli Gang to move out sometime in the late 80's to table no.5, (Ho-Pei)Ting Hao Restaurant in Hotel Sujatha.

For 2 years, the members had some difference of opinion with the restaurant authorities, and they boycotted the place and made Mama Mia Restaurant in Bejai, their headquarters.

Today, Nalli Gang is still alive and kicking, at table no.5, Ting Hao Restaurant, Hotel Sujatha.
