This was the western terminus of the Newark Branch of the Central Railroad of New Jersey. The eastern most part of the remaining building was torn down to build the Prudential Center, but the facade still remains in tact still advertising "New Jersey Central". There have been proposals made in the past to turn it into a small railroad museum.
