  From 1963--1970 Sri. E.N.Krishnan Nair was the President of the Manjalloor Panchayath for few years. His address was Purushothama Vilasom,Kappu,Madakkathanom,Vazhakulam.He represented the ward for many years.Everyone called him 'ACHAN' (FATHER) as he was a fatherly figure to all the people . The name 'ACHANKAVALA' came into being this way..

  Yes we call achan PONNACHAN.He is very love to every people. we are very proud that we are from achankavala. very lovely place river town all near and also people there are very loving.
